Role in the war: Was a member of the original Order of The Phoenix Rejoined as a member when Voldemort returned Spy for the Order within Fenrir's group of werewolves from fall of 1996 until Dumbledore's death in April of 1997. Since Dumbledore's death, he's headed the Order in Council with Moody, Minerva, and other senior members. History (emphasis on the period since 1997): After Remus stopped spying on Fenrir's group he returned to Hogwarts as Keeper of the Keys (head of security). He was able to hold the position, in spite of his status as a werewolf, because the Ministry could see it as little more than a guard dog. He's kept it because he's damn good at his job. During the remains of the war he continued to work with the Order. After the war the Order went dormant, but he continued to work as Hogwarts' security. The major event in Remus' life was, of course, the final battle at Godric's Hollow. It's where Harry died and it's where Remus tore out Fenrir's throat. As a community the werewolves don't hate Remus because he killed Fenrir - they hate him for not taking over and leaving them without a leader and in chaos. At least they did until Remus started, very quietly, to gather and lead them in July of 2007. After Sirius' death, Remus and Tonks had an off again/on again relationship for a while - and it probably wasn't healthy for either of them. They finally settled at off, and working themselves back to comfortable friendship.
